The Estates and Facilities Directorate provides a number of essential services to Durham University and is responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the infrastructure and building fabric across the estate.
It is an exciting time to join the team, as we are currently in Phase One of a three-phase programme, running until 2027, to deliver a new estate; supporting the University’s overarching strategy, with the design and construction of new teaching, leisure and accommodation facilities, alongside the repair and refurbishments to the existing infrastructure and buildings.
The Housekeeping, Cleaning and General Services Manager will be the business lead for the housekeeping, cleaning, postal and delivery, and general services, delivered by the Accommodation and Commercial Services (ACS) team; implementing the department’s strategy and ensuring exceptional services are delivered to all public and staff spaces, resulting in a clean and healthy working environment.
The post-holder will ensure the department’s operations meets University stakeholder needs; results in staff satisfaction; and focuses on driving cost efficiencies and maximising operational effectiveness.
