Role Description

The Centre for Competitive Creative Design (C4D) at Cranfield is an internationally recognised and award-winning centre of excellence. We work closely with work international research organisations to create breakthrough innovations.

This is a super opportunity to develop your career, whilst working in a creative environment. In this role you will be expected to deliver premier technical support on a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded project known as the ‘G2RT’.

You will work in collaboration with a number of international partners coordinated by Georgia Institute of Technology Atlanta, USA. The aim of this project is to refine and design a super low-flush toilet interface with mechanical and/or motorised functionality that can be connected to a number of sanitation technologies currently under development.

You will need to be proficient in CAD (e.g. SolidWorks) creating high quality technical engineering drawings, renders and fluent in technology, environmental and economic analysis techniques and methods.

You will have a minimum of 2 A Levels in relevant subjects, or equivalent vocational qualifications (BTEC Higher National Certificate or Higher Diploma, NVQ, Advanced City & Guilds) or equivalent qualification to equal experience OR significant work experience in a relevant technical role.

You will have extensive knowledge of developing complex systems and a high level of analytical capability with practical experience of working on industrial projects. Along with technical industrial design engineering skills, and a firm understanding of developing working prototypes, excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Due to the requirement of the project, international travel will be expected.
