Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow/Senior Research Assistant in Diffusion-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DW-MRI) in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology (Ref.: 498449), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
The Department of Diagnostic Radiology consists of a team of enthused scientists and clinicians, and is looking for a prospective team member to work on technical development for achieving high-resolution DW-MRI. The Department possesses two human MRI scanners (1.5T GE MRI and 3.0 Philips MRI). The team is pursuing important research questions in various areas including, but not limited to, technical development of novel MR imaging method, multi-shot diffusion-weighted imaging for high-resolution diffusion-tensor imaging, high-quality time-efficient 3D diffusion-weighted imaging, and MRI data reconstruction using machine learning.
Applicants should have: (i) a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field; (ii) a strong mathematical/analytical foundation with excellent understanding of data reconstruction of MRI; (iii) a strong understanding of Matlab, C++, and other high level programming languages; (iv) experience in working with medical image reconstruction; (v) experience in machine learning and development tools (e.g. tensorflow); (vi) experience in handling medical images (DICOM), including image segmentation and registration; (vii) excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and fluency in spoken Cantonese.
The appointee will be involved in a project on developing high-resolution multi-shot DW-MRI technology with head-motion tracking and data reconstruction using machine learning. He/She will work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment that requires exceptional communication and problem solving skills.
