About the Role
The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) seeks to appoint a part-time (0.5 FTE) Lecturer in Art (Drawing and Printmaking). The VCA Art has a significant national reputation and has long established a dynamic presence as forward-looking with a clear mission to prepare artists with a lifelong commitment as professional practitioners who will be positive contributors to the profession and the broader community.
This position will entail participation in the Undergraduate and Graduate teaching program and contribution to the institution’s research culture through Honours and Graduate supervision, mentoring, and through the appointee’s own research initiatives and exhibitions.
You will hold a PhD in the field of contemporary art practice and its theoretical context or immanent submission of the award, with a focus on contemporary Visual Art practices, together with relevant professional experience. You need appropriate coordination, management and administrate experience in an Art School context. Previous experience in undergraduate curriculum development and successful subject development and delivery is also required.
Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, you will work nestled amongst Melbourne’s major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by.
