Overview:

We are recruiting to a new Admissions Manager (Postgraduate) role in our busy Admissions team. The postholder will be a member of the Admissions management team; working alongside other Admissions Managers, you will line manage a team of Admissions staff and oversee the delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective admissions services to applicants and internal stakeholders. The postholder will also have specific responsibility for PGR admissions matters and will support Queen Mary to deliver ambitious growth in PGR student numbers in line with the university’s Strategy 2030.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an admissions function in a higher education institution or a similar organisation. You will have experience of managing staff and of working in a role involving a significant level of responsibility and use of initiative, such as for the development of policy, decision-making, team leadership or active involvement in improvement projects. You will be a resilient individual, with the ability to work well under pressure, and your flexible approach will enable you to manage change, work collaboratively with other managers and effectively support a team through changes in workload, policy, systems and processes

You will have excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to motivate team members as well as to influence, negotiate and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in the university. Extensive experience of working with a computerised student records system, preferably SITS, including extraction of relevant data for specific purposes and good IT skills, including the ability to produce data reports using relevant software, such as MS Excel or a reporting writing tool, such as Discoverer, are also essential.  

This posts will be full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range of £37,411 - £40,568 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
