FIXED TERM - 2 year Apprenticeship, Full-time

We have a fantastic opportunity, for someone with an interest in gardens, landscapes and sports turf maintenance and preparation to "earn while you learn," training to be a professional Grounds Person.

Under the direction of the Head Gardener and experienced professional Grounds team, you will be working on a multiplicity of grass and artificial sports pitches, formal gardens, wildlife areas, edible (fruit and vegetables) gardens and amenity areas, always focusing on achieving the highest standards of appearance.

This is an excellent opportunity to combine on the job training, guidance, and support with taught modules at college to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to gain the Apprenticeship Level Two in horticulture. This is a two-year apprenticeship with external training at a regional horticultural college.

Candidates must have a keen interest in sports turf, plants, and gardens; be enthusiastic, reliable and demonstrate a commitment to learning. To be eligible for the college course you must have GCSE English and Maths at A to C / 4-9 grade, or be prepared to attain an equivalent qualification at college.

The application process will be a short, informal, first-stage interview and then the successful candidate will be invited back to spend a day with our Grounds team, where you will have the opportunity to get to know the team and impressthem with your work ethic, enthusiasm and positive attitude.
