Applications are invited for the post of Electronics Technician in the Physics Department at Royal Holloway, University of London.

The successful candidate will provide technical support in the assembly and installation of photoelectronics components and instrumentation for the DarkSide experiment at the LNGS facility in Italy. The position will work in and support the Dark Matter and Neutrino Research group in the Centre for Particle Physics.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in an electrical engineering environment at an experienced technician level. Experience of assembling and testing low-noise detector systems, and use of precision electronics bench test equipment will be required. Experience of electronics construction for silicon detectors, working in clean-room assembly environments, with low-radioactivity constraints, and skill in soldering custom cables with miniature connectors would be an advantage. The ideal candidate would be able to work independently, while communicating well with the DarkSide photoelectronics team members, including progress reports at photoelectronics working group meetings.

This is a full time post, available immediately for a fixed term period until 31/03/2020. It is expected that this technical post may be continued to other projects within the Centre for Particle Physics, pending the availability of follow-on funding.

This post is based in the Physics Department of Royal Holloway at Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park. This post will require long term travel to the LNGS facility in Italy where the DarkSide experiment will be constructed.
