Bristol University Press (BUP), and its award-winning imprint Policy Press (PP), is looking to appoint an Editorial Assistant to work within the dynamic and growing Commissioning Team.

The Editorial Assistant is responsible for supporting the commissioning editors in the commissioning and project management of titles on their lists. This involves managing the proposal and contracted typescript peer review processes, liaising with authors, ensuring the accurate updating of the publishing software system and keeping other internal tracking documents accurate and up to date. The role also provides administrative support including assisting with drafting internal project documents, data entry, filing, taking minutes and organising internal and external meetings.

The successful candidate should have proven administrative experience in a relevant role, preferably within a publishing Commissioning Team and basic knowledge of the publishing process. We are looking for someone with good attention to detail, excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise a busy workload.

The Editorial Assistant is a key role in maintaining the high-quality standards for our products and our excellent author service.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 1st September and it is anticipated that interviews will be held on 13th September.
