The Graduate School of Health (GSH) is recruiting a part time Research Associate to to develop their skills in mental health research and data management whilst contributing to an innovative research program in Psycho-social aspects of neurological illness.

You will play a central role in ensuring the success of the program of studies particularly considering impacts and interventions for Multiple Sclerosis and stroke.

The position is based at the central campus of UTS with co-investigators at Neura , University of Surrey, University of Nottingham, Auckland University of Technology and Adelaide University.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of an honours degree in psychology, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in systematic review, data collection, database management and data analysis. There is also the opportunity to contribute to publications.

In this role you will:

• Prepare research protocols and associated applications to relevant Human Research Ethics Committees
• Search multiple data bases using relevant criteria and identify relevant manuscripts and enter into Covidence.
• Collect research data via survey and interview formats
• Ensure timely and accurate entry of the study questionnaire data
• Conduct summary and descriptive data analyses of key study variables for the purpose of study reports
• Keep all study stakeholders informed of the progress of the study and convene meetings o stakeholders as required.

You will have:

• An Honours degree in Psychology
• Awareness of ethical principles of mental health research, particularly regarding participant confidentiality
• Awareness of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research
• Broad knowledge of neurological illness and mental health.
• Demonstrated ability to meet project timelines and prioritise demands.
• Registration as a Psychologist is desirable
• A current driver's license is desirable but not essential

Remuneration

Base Salary: pro rata $78,170 pa (Academic level A)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This appointment will be on a fixed term part-time basis for a period of 24 months. This role is 0.5 FTE which is 17.5 hours per week. Two full working days is required with flexibility provided on completing the remaining 3.5 hours.
