Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff.

Based primarily at our Vernon Street site, the successful candidate will supervise the day to day running of the University’s 3D workshops and instruct students in the safe, appropriate and professional use of 3D processes, techniques and tools according to personal skillset and as required by course and programme curriculum. They will support the University 3D Manager in developing the University’s 3D services.

Applicants should be aware that this role involves some flexibility in working hours and could include evening sessions when required.

The successful applicant should have an arts degree that incorporates significant use of 3D making techniques and should also have a sound knowledge and understanding of general wood and metal working techniques within the workshop environment including;

  • Wood Machining (Table Saw, Band Saw)
  • Working with various metals: Copper, Brass, Steel, Aluminium
  • Working with various types of plastic: Acrylic, HIPS
  • Welding (MIG)
  • Plasma Cutter (Manual)

Previous experience in assisting or instructing students is essential to this role as well as being able to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
