COORDINATOR, EVENTS AND COMMUNITY SUPPORTSloan School of Management, to provide a high level of organization and administrative support as an integral member of a seven-person team within the MBA Program Office. The position will involve working closely with people at all levels across MIT and Sloan and consistently producing high quality events and programs for myriad stakeholders and ensuring operational excellence for the MBA and MSMS programs.  Key responsibilities include organizing and executing various community building programs/events for the MBA population of 800+; developing and implementing a communication strategy and marketing campaigns for program events; handling financial duties, including purchasing, reconciling accounts, budget preparation and management, and managing vendor agreements and payments; working as part of the MBA team on a wide range of projects and special initiatives to ensure success of the program; identifying and implementing programs and events geared towards student experience for MBA and MSMS students, including current and prospective; and supporting the execution of major events--orientation, AdMIT weekend, and graduation.  Will also support the assistant dean for the Master of Finance program ten-percent of the time. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (advanced degree desirable); at least two years’ experience in a business or academic environment; event and project management experience; proficiency with design software for marketing collateral (Adobe Creative Suite, either Photoshop or illustrator); strong organizational and time-management skills; initiative, flexibility, and openness to change; a proactive approach to projects/problem-solving/planning; good judgment, discretion, and diplomacy; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, anticipate and prioritize effectively, and to own and follow through on tasks independently with limited supervision and as part of a team. Job #17874-6

Must be willing to work occasional evenings or weekends around major events (e.g., orientation, AdMIT weekend, and graduation) and deadlines.
