The School of Law (SOL) is one of eight schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The School of Law has two organizational units: the Department of Law (DOL) and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). In 2015 it celebrated 50 years of law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).  Established in 1965, the School of Law has grown from 30 students and four academic staff, to 1,939 students and 115 academic staff.  CCLS has become one of the world’s leading academic institutions for the study of commercial law.  CCLS covers the whole spectrum of commercial law, and around a thousand students from some 80 countries study for masters and doctorate degrees. The Department of Law focuses on the culture and institutions of the rule of law in creating civil society at all levels from the local to the transnational.  As one of the largest law schools in the UK, it provides high quality teaching to more than 800 undergraduate students.

CCLS has a team of approximately 40 Professional Service staff and the DOL approximately 25 Professional Services staff to support the School’s teaching and research priorities.  The SOL has a number of shared professional service posts which support its activity and this post will support the HR work of both the Department and CCLS.

The post holder will be part of the QMplus Helpdesk Team and will deal with QMplus enquiries from staff from across the School and on the PGT programmes.  The post also includes some other IT support areas such as attendance monitoring and cover when the ELearning Officer (line manager) is on leave.  The successful candidate should be educated to at least A level or equivalent, with the ability to use IT systems.
