About the Role
We currently have three roles (full-time and part-time) available in our Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) Art team.
The positions will entail participation in the undergraduate and/or graduate teaching programs and contribution to the institution’s learning culture. This position will make contributions to the teaching effort of the institution, in particular to the Breadth programs and contribution to the institution’s research culture through Honours and Graduate supervision, mentoring, and through the appointee’s own research initiatives and exhibitions.
The appointees will be active and well-respected artists with expertise in teaching and the ability to work within small teams to shape and build the teaching and learning within VCA Art and specifically Breadth Programs or other programs as required. The appointees will be involved in course development, design and the delivery and maintenance of high-quality teaching programs as well as supporting the VCA in the achievement and further development and enhancement of its purpose and vision.
You will hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts and/or Masters or equivalent in the field of contemporary visual art practice and its theoretical context. You must demonstrate established and active artistic practice and ongoing engagement with contemporary art. You must have previous experience in undergraduate curriculum development and successful subject development and delivery. Also, the ability to function as a vital and active member of VCA Art’s academic team and to function at all times with integrity, professionalism and collegiality.
Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, you will work nestled amongst Melbourne’s major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by.
