Within IT Services strategy, key in-house services have been migrated to new cloud-based platforms operated by third-parties. We are currently migrating email, calendar, mailing lists, document storage, intranet level content and many other functions to the Microsoft Office 365 suite. The University has created an ambitious “Digital Bristol” Programme to facilitate the move to the cloud and the SharePoint Administrator will have a key technical role within this body of work.

As the Office 365 SharePoint Administrator, you will support and develop the migration of content into SharePoint Online. You will be expected to maintain and monitor managed SharePoint site collections within Office 365, keeping them up to date and in good working order. You will work closely with the University of Bristol Service Desk to resolve faults and issues, and will be the primary person leading in the resolution of issues too complex for the Service Desk.

The SharePoint Administrator will advise users on how to get the most from the Modern SharePoint online experience, (such as document management, use of webparts, modern site pages, search and metadata). This will be done in person, through written documentation and the implementation of mini-projects to improve the understanding and uptake of SharePoint within the organisation. It is anticipated that in this role, the SharePoint Administrator will work closely with the University training team.

You will be working within an engaged, highly skilled and user focused project team. The SharePoint Administrator will be supported technically by both the SharePoint Developer and Office365 Technical Architect.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Thursday 22nd August 2019. For informal enquiries please contact Max Goss (Office365 Technical Architect) – m.a.goss@bristol.ac.uk

We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
