The Balloon Bar & Anson Rooms are looking for a new manager to lead a progressive team into a new period within the University and Student Union’s history. Working closely with the cluster manager and the head chef the Balloon Bar and Anson Room manager will manage the day to day running of a busy student bar & kitchen as well as an event bar with a capacity of up 1200 guests with a wide variety of gigs from DJ nights and live bands to TED talks and conferences. The post holder will lead a team to deliver the University and the Student Union’s vision of giving the students the ultimate student experience through imaginative concepts, trend setting products and amazing service. The ideal person will have existing experience in managing a café and bar along with large scale events as well as a finger on the pulse of trends within the Bristol hospitality scene.

The University of Bristol’s Catering Department has embarked on an exciting time of change. We are seeking commercially minded, industry professionals to join the management team to help deliver our new objectives. Using the experience and knowledge gained managing a complex multi-site operation, the successful candidate will possess excellent people management and interpersonal skills, excellent commercial knowledge and be able to grow sales and bottom line while keeping the standards and quality high.
