We are seeking to appoint a talented researcher with an interest in surgical trials methodology to work as part of a large multidisciplinary surgical research team directed by Professor Jane Blazeby, Professor of Surgery. The successful applicant will have experience of clinical trials, and of mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) research, most likely in an applied Health Services Research setting. The post will suit a researcher with a PhD (or equivalent experience) in mixed methods or health services research, who is keen to develop a personal research profile in surgical trial methodology. The post will provide opportunities to design future research studies, apply for external funding and personal fellowships, write for journal publication, teach, and develop an independent research portfolio. This post is available on a full-time basis and is a maternity cover post, funded for up to 12 months from 01 October 2019, or from the date of appointment if that is different.
