Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP)/Post-doctoral Fellow (PDFin the Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 498404) (to commence on September 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter for one year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Work, Social Science, Data Science or a related field, with a solid research track record in areas related to social service, program evaluation and social policy.  They should have a strong commitment to research and teaching.  Preference will be given to those who have applied research experience in the evaluation of mental health programs and exposure to big data analytics, AI/machine learning, R, Python, SPSS or SQL.  

The appointee will take a leading role in overseeing research projects; supervise a team of research assistants; prepare reports and academic publications; liaise with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and relevant stakeholders; and undertake teaching/training duties related to the projects.
