The Stanford Fund is Stanford’s primary annual fund for undergraduate alumni, parents, and students. Reporting to the Director of The Stanford Fund, the Development Coordinator will play a key supporting role in all stages of the development cycle – from research and solicitation, to stewardship and lifelong donor engagement.

This position will work directly with front-line fundraisers, undergraduate alumni, donors, volunteers, and other university staff to assist in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with all university constituencies. Unique to this position, the Development Coordinator for

The Stanford Fund will have the opportunity to work for an established annual giving program, as well as to innovate and pilot new ideas within an emerging young alumni giving program.

The ideal candidate for this position has a strong belief in the importance of philanthropy and is willing to jump in and learn new processes and systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide project and administrative support for Stanford Fund staff, including the Young Alumni team.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Young Alumni events, including managing invite lists, event registration, and other logistics.
  • Retrieve donor and prospect information, update records, and generate reports using Salesforce and Stanford’s external relations database.
  • Process gifts using Stanford’s Oracle-based Gift Transmittal system, troubleshoot gift and payment issues, and ensure accurate donor record keeping.
  • Track budgets, manage reimbursements, and prepare expense reports.
  • Answer questions and resolve inbound requests from alumni, donors, and other university constituents.
  • Assist in the design, publication, and production of fundraising and stewardship materials.
  • Build a network of relevant contacts, and stay informed on current university initiatives and activities.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.
  • To be successful in this position, you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of database systems, such as Microsoft Access.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is desirable.
  • Strong customer service skills, and a desire to solve problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Outstanding communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Discretion while working with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage projects simultaneously.
