About the Role 

The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) seeks to appoint a full-time Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Art to lead the Drawing and Printmaking team. This is a continuing appointment where the appointee will be offered the position of Head of Drawing and Printmaking, for a period of three years in the first instance, working closely with the Head of Art to provide academic leadership and management to the Drawing and Printmaking program.

This position will entail participation in the Undergraduate and Graduate teaching program and contribution to the institution’s research culture through Honours and Graduate supervision, mentoring, and through the appointee’s own research initiatives and exhibitions.

About you 

You will hold a PhD in the field of contemporary art practice and its theoretical context, with a focus on contemporary Visual Art practices, together with relevant professional experience.  Significant teaching experience in a tertiary Art School context, national reputation in the field of Drawing and Printmaking and strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills are required.
