Applications are invited for the post of Central Services Technician in the School of Biological Sciences

You will be based in the central school autoclave and wash-up facility, providing a service to the school’s research and teaching activities.

This role principally entails the physical collection and delivery of waste and equipment across the school’s suites of laboratories.

You will use autoclaves and glass washers while working to support the day-to-day running of the central services facility, as well as ensuring compliance of waste treatment and disposal activities with the biological safety legislation and procedures.

You will be self-motivated, have excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. You will work as a member of the technical team supporting the work of the school.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of similar work, with experience in life science advantageous.

This is a permanent post available from 27th August 2019.

A degree of physical fitness is essential as the post involves manual handling / portering activities.
