We are looking for a Learning Spaces Technician to join our AV & Learning Spaces team, based at our Sighthill Campus. This role is critical to supporting our student, staff and external customers and to delivering an excellent user experience to all.
In an ever-changing technological landscape and as a progressive institution, we see our teaching and learning spaces as integral to our success. The AV & Learning Spaces team sits within the Customer Service & Business Change division within the Information Services department and has operational responsibility for a wide variety of AV & IT technologies across the entire University. The primary purpose is to design, develop, implement and maintain the AV systems and provide operational support for desktop IT systems in support of the Universities strategic and operational goals.

As a Learning Space technician, you will work as part of the AV & Learning Spaces team to support the installation and maintenance of the IT Technology & Audio Visual equipment across the University.
You will also support the use of this technology by our Academic staff and assist in their understanding of how this technology will work when used within the teaching and learning framework.
Who we are looking for
Applicants must have:
- A degree and/or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Practical experience of working in a customer support environment providing technical solutions and able to demonstrate the use of the learning technology equipment
- Experience of demonstrating room technologies, video, projection and display equipment, audio systems and control environments
- Knowledge and understanding of desktop computers, laptops, printers and software
- Good verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer focus
Additionally, applicants will ideally have:
- ITIL Foundation
- Experience of delivering AV/IT technology within a Higher Education environment
