Job description

As Edinburgh Napier University embarks on a new strategic vision, we seek an ambitious Alumni Engagement and Relations Manager to devise and implement a programme of engagement which leverages significant value for the advancement of the alumni, the university, research and students in order to deliver positive impact in communities throughout the world.

In addition to having excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, you will have proven skills for strategic analysis, planning and managing alumni engagement and measuring its impact.

The role

As a senior manager, you will collaborate with colleagues in our schools across the university, leading your team to develop and implement an engaging alumni programme which encourages, nurtures and sustains lifelong relationships. Whilst supporting a developing global alumni network, you will work to strengthen our connection and relevance to the high proportion of graduates who live and work in Edinburgh and London. The scope of this role stretches from the engagement of today's students through to alumni who have graduated over past decades. You will hone a programme of engagement communications and events which reflect the interests and needs of a diverse and vibrant alumni community, who enjoy and continue to recognise the value-add from being a member of Edinburgh Napier University alumni.

Who we are looking for

You have proven experience in devising and delivering engaging two-way communication and engagement programmes, most likely within either a higher education or membership environment. You understand what alumni are seeking from a relationship with the university and can demonstrate measurable impact from successfully delivering objectives to progress organisational goals. You enjoy meeting people face to face, in writing or by phone and have experience of developing digital communications which engage a target audience. You are willing to undertake travel to represent the university and develop alumni activity. You are able to recognise and capitalise on emerging opportunities, have the ability to manage multiple projects and their deadlines, and have proven skills for strategic analysis to that supports the refinement of further development plans.

Salary: GBP 39,609 - GBP 48,677 per annum (Grade 6)
