Overview:

The Careers & Enterprise team at Queen Mary, University of London supports students and graduates in finding and preparing for internships, part time jobs, graduate jobs and further study.  We are seeking an experienced events programmes coordinator, capable of delivering a range of high quality events to connect students and graduates with alumni and potential employers.

This is an interesting and fast-paced role in which you will be responsible for the organization and delivery of the university’s STEM, Business & Finance and Law careers fairs. Alongside this you will plan and oversee the university’s careers events programme (comprising of  c. 100 events annually) which are aimed at connecting students with employers and alumni. Events vary in format and include networking sessions, presentations, recruitment fairs, and workshops. This programme will be delivered with te support of an Events Assistant who will report directly into this postholder.

The post holder will need to have excellent project management, planning and problem solving skills and a strong commitment to customer service.  Delivering a large number of events will require the post holder to be able to work both independently and as part of a team, working to tight deadlines.

Experience of working in the Higher Education Sector and knowledge of work of a modern Careers Centre would be an advantage.

The post is full time at 35 hours per week and permanent.  Starting salary will be in the range £33,615 - £39, 483 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
