Lincoln School of Film and Media seeks a suitably qualified Lecturer in Radio Production who is keen to join a lively and dynamic, professional and creative culture. You will have extensive experience in a leading role in a professional radio industry environment with a minimum of five years’ experience.

You will also have demonstrable professional expertise in at least three of the following areas: live radio studio broadcast, e.g. presentation/production skills or significant experience of mentoring/coaching in a professional environment, development of radio/audio content for differing audiences and platforms e.g. podcasting, sound branding, audio drama to professional industry standards, detailed knowledge of current radio/audio industry landscape, including regulation, compliance, commissioning and audiences, based on your professional experience in the industry; advanced technical skills, e.g. editing, creative sound design, use of microphones and other relevant recording/sound equipment, significant experience of leading community/outreach projects within a radio/audio context, developing radio/audio content in a multi-platform context e.g. social media/on-line.

You will be ambitious to maintain professional involvement with the radio and audio industries and other external partners alongside your teaching on new and established programmes. Your job will be to help ensure LSFM continues to be internationally and nationally recognised for excellent creative production. Your role will also include supporting students develop their own radio and audio practice on a range of projects. This may include working with different individuals and community organisations, involving the University’s own radio stations/media platforms and professional networks.

Your appointment will align with our strong reputation for innovative teaching and learning, productive relationships with the creative and cultural industries, and strong research and professional practice outputs. As well as teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate media programmes, you will be ready to work with colleagues on curriculum development and the advancement of relevant discipline areas.
In accordance with our student-centred approach you will undertake personal tutoring and support. You will already have a teaching qualification/accreditation (HE PGCE or HEA fellowship) or commit to achieving one during the probation period.

Specifically, the teaching element of the role is for you to devise and lead skills workshops and deliver lectures in live radio broadcasting, developing creative radio and audio content for different audiences and platforms, sound branding, technical and creative skills and audio post production.
