The Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE) provides world-class teaching and research, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs across our Tasmanian and Sydney campuses, including programs within China and Hong Kong.

The Opportunity

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Economics) plays a lead role in the development and delivery of economics units in Launceston, reporting to the Head of School and in collaboration with the Head of Discipline.

This academic position has a balanced workload of research, teaching and engagement working in partnership with the University’s Colleges.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Make a strong/effective contribution to the University in achieving its objectives and responsibilities
  • Undertake high-quality research of national and international standing
  • Undertake scholarly undergraduate and postgraduate coursework teaching
  • Provide academic leadership
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field
  • A good/strong record of, and commitment to research that has achieved national/international recognition
  • Experience in University-level teaching and learning
  • A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links
  • A record of contributions to successful research higher degree supervision


Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B or Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $158,046 comprising base salary within the range of $98,537 to $135,082 plus 17% superannuation.
