Our department

Since its establishment in 1905, the Department Anatomy has grown to become one of the largest Departments in the University. We are committed to excellence in teaching and research.

The Department makes major contributions to the undergraduate and postgraduate education of students in science, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, medical laboratory sciences, and physical education.

The role

We are seeking a professionally qualified Professional Practice Fellow to contribute to the teaching within the health professional programmes.

This role's primary task is to contribute to and support the teaching and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate papers in Clinical Anatomy. This includes:

• preparation;
• assessment;
• teaching; and
• paper administration duties.

Duties may also include teaching into and support of the Postgraduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy (a FRACS accredited course delivering training to postgraduate surgical students), which includes providing practical demonstrations. Thus, a candidate with surgical experience would be highly desirable.

Your skills and experience

• Have a relevant professional qualification and experience. Ideally, you will also have a postgraduate professional qualification.
• Have a proven teaching record.
• Have a passion for teaching anatomy.
• Provide evidence of an ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds.
• Be willing to work as part of a wider team, under the direction of academic convenors and coordinators, to support teaching excellence.

This is a permanent, full-time position. Applications for part-time may be considered for the right candidate.

Depending on skills and experience, this position will be appointed on either of the following scales:

• Professional Practice Fellow (Non-Medical and Dental): $60,871 to $116,357.
• Professional Practice Fellow (Medical and Dental): $65,299 to $159,023.
