We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to support an EPSRC project, investigating the use of automated decision making within government.  The work package you will perform will involve engaging with Government policy makers and data scientists to better understand the relationship during the commissioning and acceptance of algorithmic decision making solutions.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring research data in accordance with the project’s aims and objectives.
  • Interpreting research data using appropriate, specified and agreed techniques and models.
  • Publishing high quality journal and conference papers based on the research carried out.
  • To engage with and support our research and industrial partners as required by the project.

You will have a Masters-level qualification in a related field or a degree and equivalent experience.  A PhD in a related field is desirable.

Experience of qualitative research methods and a publishing record in peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals is essential.

A willingness to travel within the UK is required.

Interviews will be held 26 and 27 September 2019.
