Neuropsychiatric Genetics Staff Scientist
This is an exciting new position that will play a vital role in supporting research in the Biomedical Research Centre’s (BRC) for Mental Health Genomics and Biomarkers Theme (lead Dr Gerome Breen) and the Social Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre The successful post-holder will have the opportunity to work alongside world leading academic researchers to support the development of new treatments and diagnostics for mental and neurological illnesses.
The Translational and Neuropsychiatric Genetics group, led by Dr Breen, is focused on analysis and integration of clinical and research data (eg. expression profiling, genomics, proteomics, neuroimaging) to identify biomarkers of progression, disease and treatment response and in further understanding neuropsychiatric illness. The successful candidate will be a member of a team that includes laboratory postdocs, a genomics core, database developers, systems administrators and postdoctoral bioinformatics researchers, biostatisticians and clinical informaticians. The postholder will also attending meetings with the Statistical Genetics Unit at KCL (lead Prof Cathryn Lewis).
This post will a fixed-term contract until 31st March, 2021
