The policy institute at King’s within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy is looking to appoint a part time Research Associate working in the area of experimental behavioural science and social mobility.

The post holder will work with Dr Michael Sanders, Reader in Public Policy at the Policy Institute, and Academic Lead for the Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes (TASO), the What Works Centre for Higher Education. Michael’s research focuses on social mobility and supporting the most vulnerable young people in society, mostly using randomised controlled trials.

They will work on a new programme of work focusing on access to university, success at university, and financial support. This will likely involve designing experiments, both in the lab or online and in the real world, testing new ways of framing and presenting financial incentives to attend university, as well as working with colleagues in the Widening Participation department at King’s on novel ways of structuring financial incentives themselves.

This post will be offered a fixed-term contract for 1 year.

This is a part-time post - 20% full time equivalent
