We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and collaborative individual who will support ongoing Drosophila projects aimed at understanding the mechanisms that regulate intracellular trafficking in the neurons of ageing animals. The focus of the work is to clarify the intricate relationship between mitochondrial dynamics and neuronal functions, with our primary interest extending to the cell biology of neurodegeneration.
The core of the work will combine molecular biology, genetics and advanced microscopy techniques in order to study intracellular trafficking in ageing Drosophila in situ. Prior laboratory experience with Drosophila would be highly desirable, although training will be provided. Requests to extend the period of appointment could be considered.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 1 year.
This is a part-time post - 50% full time equivalent.
The selection process will include a panel interview.
