As a commitment to our investment in Criminology, we are now looking to appoint an outstanding and experienced Criminologist to join our highly regarded and student-focused team. Working with the School Leadership Team and the Criminology Course Director, the post holder will be pivotal in realising new course provision. This role provides an excellent opportunity to help shape the direction of Criminology at Coventry University over the next period.

The School delivers three undergraduate Criminology courses and proposes to develop postgraduate provision. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in a core area of Criminology as well as the capacity to work across a broad range of curricula.

The School is recognised for the high quality of its provision of applied and professional courses. This includes a broad portfolio of on-campus, off-campus,blended and distance learning courses both discipline and profession specific.Applied research activity is an integral part of the Faculty's business and there is a strong commitment to enabling staff to engage in scholarlyship. For this post, the role holder will be expected to focus on academic leadership,and teaching and learning in the first instance.

Applicants must hold a PhD and publications or equivalent outputs, or (if from Professional practice background) a good Honours/Masters Degree and appropriate professional qualifications and experience and be willing to embark on study for a PhD. Applicants must demonstrate experience of delivering in an educational setting. Coventry University offers academic support and professional development support and provides the opportunity for staff without a recognised teaching qualification to undertake the PGCE.
