RESEARCH GUIDEMedia Lab, to assist in managing the flow of visits, meetings, and tours in an office dedicated to developing new member companies and maintaining relationships with existing members.  Will interact with high-level representatives from prominent companies, visitors from government and foundations, and MIT and Media Lab alumni; and become familiar with the wide variety of research projects in the lab, getting to know faculty, researchers, and graduate students.

The Media Lab applies an unorthodox research approach to envision the impact of emerging technologies on everyday life.  This research is supported by more than eighty member companies, including some of the world’s leading corporations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  two years’ related experience (may include related experience gained as an undergraduate); excellent interpersonal, public speaking, technical, collaboration, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to grasp scientific research and relay a basic understanding to others; ease with learning and navigating databases; tact and good judgment with confidential information; demonstrated organizational awareness and ability to identify a need without direction and support; meticulous attention to detail; and punctuality.  Seek someone who enjoys being a contributor to a team, is able to build productive working relationships with a wide range of people, and is comfortable working in a highly diverse and international environment.  A bachelor's degree; experience with Apple computers, the Google suite (including Gmail), MS Office, and Salesforce; and fluency in a second language, especially Chinese preferred. Job #17827-4

This is a one-year appointment.
