IT MANAGER, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to provide IT-related leadership, working closely with directors and PIs.  Will contribute to the use of technology in research, training, policy outreach, and administrative functions.  Responsibilities include Salesforce administration, overall IT health, and strategic planning. Will oversee all SF activity (including the work of staff and consultants), integrations with other applications (e.g. Foundation Connect, Marketing Cloud), platform maintenance, usability (including training), and its long-term sustainability for J-PAL.  Overall IT health work includes communicating upcoming changes and impact on staff, limited oversight of all other IT applications (e.g., Drupal), limited consulting and final decision-making for proposed new software or changes that would affect existing systems, and managing IT desktop support staff.  Will also provide overall strategic IT vision for JPAL with regard to system and data usability and longevity, data security, and regional collaboration.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer science or related technical field; hands-on IT experience, especially with Salesforce (SF) and project management; at least five years’ work experience in IT management, project management, and development of new technologies; Salesforce administrator certification, including three years’ SF administration experience; ability to work with non-technical staff to determine needs, present solutions clearly to senior managers, manage outside vendors, work independently, and propose projects and IT solutions without waiting for explicit requests from directors/managers; proven ability to lead and manage others; excellent people skills; and sensitivity to different cultural contexts.  Experience with Apple and Windows platforms preferred.  At least two years’ management experience, proven ability to create custom objects and complex workflows in SF, and strong G Suite administration skills strongly desired.  Job #17832-10
