Salary: £21,696-£26,556 (Grade 2)
Location: Mile End
Closing date: 27-Aug-2019

Overview:

The School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) is an exciting and dynamic environment and is home to over 1100 undergraduate students, 370 postgraduate students, and 200 PhD students.

A vacancy has now arisen within the School’s Teaching Services Team to provide a wide range of support to our student-facing staff. This post will be the first point of contact for all teaching related queries in our busy Teaching Services hub.

To apply, you should have a strong customer focus and a passion for providing exceptional customer service, with good interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with staff at all levels and a “can do” attitude.  You are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills, and should have administrative experience of working in a busy office environment.  You must be able to work unsupervised using your own initiative, as well as being committed to working collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team.  Experience of administration associated with Teaching and Learning would be an advantage.

The post is full time, fixed-term for 12 months and is available immediately.  Starting salary will be £21,696-£26,556 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and an interest-free season ticket loan.

At Queen Mary University of London, we are committed to the equality of opportunities and to advancing the careers of all staff.  We have policies to support staff returning from long-term absence and flexible arrangements for staff to who wish to change their work patterns. We strongly encourage applications from men who are underrepresented in our administrative support team.  We will also consider applications for this post to be a job share, so please indicate this clearly on your application form.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Ms Karen Finesilver at k.finesilver@eecs.qmul.ac.uk or on 020 7882 7335.  Details about the School can be found at www.eecs.qmul.ac.uk.
