Tissue Bank Technician

Applications are sought for a Tissue Bank Technician to support BCI portfolio of tissue banks, with comprehensive, efficient and effective tissue processing, storage and distribution The successful applicant will have experience of handling and processing human tissue in an oncology research environment. The research will be based in the Director’s Office, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.
Essential requirements for this post include sample archiving and management using LIMS as well as strong organisational skills. Experience of nucleic acid extraction and conducting audits would be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain accurate and complete records are also essential.
The post is full time and for one year. Starting salary will be in the range £27,251 - £33,615 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave ot remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
