Overview:

 Queen Mary University of London is one of the UK’s leading research-focused universities and a member of the Russell Group with an outstanding reputation in the humanities and social sciences.

The School of Languages, Linguistics and Film is looking to appoint a member of the team to provide professional and strategic responsibility for the delivery of teaching and learning activities in the School. You will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating a team of administrators across areas that include exams and assessment, quality assurance, curriculum and programme development, student support, and delivery of all the School’s programmes and courses. You will work collaboratively with managers, administrators and academic staff in the School, and with colleagues across Queen Mary. You will be responsible for leading and managing the Teaching and Learning Administrative team.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, and have substantial experience of managing teaching and learning activities within Higher Education. Considerable experience in developing and analysing policies and procedures is essential as well as the ability to inform decision making at a senior level. You will be a team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who also has the ability to balance competing pressures, deadlines and complex demands. Experience of strategic planning and managing and developing a team are also essential.

The post is full time and permanent, available from October. Starting salary range will be £46,489 to £47,782 per annum. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, a pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
