University of Bristol Students’ Union role

Bristol SU is hiring for a brand new role in social media content creation. If you can create exciting videos, images and written content that light up social media channels, we’re looking for you.

We need someone to turn our social media planning into reality, working with people from across the SU and University to engage thousands of Bristol students daily. You’ll be curating addictive Insta stories, sparking discussions on Facebook, shooting vlog content and reporting from events all over campus – all to grow our follower base and keep them coming back again and again.

What’s more you’ll be shaping the SU’s approach to communications and innovation, helping your colleagues to contribute engaging content to the SU’s feeds themselves.

The role needs an all-round creative with some design and videography experience, a focus on social media, and someone ready to jump into different situations in an environment where no two days are ever the same.

Hours: 4 days, 28 hours p/w
Salary: £20,181 (pro rata) Grade 3.1
Contract: 10 months: 1 October – 30 June
Closing date: 19 August at 12:00. Interviews 2 September.

Who are you?

  • You’ll have experience in creating great stories and content for specific audiences and online marketing channels
  • You’ll have some experience of design and videography, know how to shoot and edit video on the fly, and how to use brand guidelines to make images and content that fit alongside our other creative work
  • You’re able to analyse trends in insights data, and the wider sector, to make judgements about what content to use – and you’re able to communicate these processes to others
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and you’re a natural networker and storyteller who loves engaging students and working with different people
