We are now seeking an experienced academic to join the School of Art and Design to lead and deliver on a series outreach activities such as the highly regarded National Saturday Art & Design Club, engaging in widening participation events within the community and schools and engaging the School in the City of Culture and Coventry Universities cultural strategy.

The role has been recreated to support the schools vision on developing its external facing profile, we see this role as shaping the future of collaborating with schools and communities within the local area and showcasing the Arts to encourage the value of creativity.

This role provides opportunity for a talented, creative and dynamic academic who wishes to work within the School of Art and Design to create opportunities and projects that highlight Coventry School of Art and Design as the Art and Design provider in the Midlands.

  • Working closely with the Associate Head of School for Recruitment and Marketing and the Head of School to ensure the delivery and expansion of the Saturday Art Club
  • Liaising closely with the Associate Heads of School to develop innovative pedagogic practices, linked to engaging schools, community groups and external widening participation collaborations.
  • Take the leading role in maintaining professional standards and accreditation within  the Saturday Art Club and ensure the participants have a varied and diverse experience of Art and Design practice, digital and traditional.

The successful candidate will have a MA along side experience in a relevant subject area (or an equivalent professional experience and a relevant postgraduate qualification). The candidate must have excellent personal skills needed to engage with schools and communities. The candidate must have experience of working with young adults and ideally also with community groups. They should have the ability to project manage and forward plan multiple projects. The candidate must be able to demonstrate  interdisciplinary practice and or show the ability or be able to apply a variety of practices to the role
