About the Job

The Director, Faculty Operations (DFO) is responsible for the leadership and broad spectrum of professional operations within the Faculty, ensuring that an operational framework is in place to support the achievement of faculty targets and objectives.

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, and as a member of the Faculty Executive, the DFO is a member of the higher education leadership team. The position provides expert operational advice to senior executives on a range of matters and develops, manages and implements plans to achieve Faculty objectives.

In this position, you will lead an efficient and effective professional support team that effectively supports the Academic and Research teams within the Faculty. This includes overseeing the planning, development and monitoring of the Faculty’s human and physical resource plans in order to advance the performance and operational effectiveness of the Faculty.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, and/ or proven extensive experience in the management of significant human and material resources
  • Proven ability in developing and executing strategic and operational business plans and policy, and the delivery of these within timeframes and budget
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions
  • Possess high level interpersonal skills demonstrated through an ability to collaborate, motivate, influence and negotiate in the best interests of the Faculty and University in the context of a matrix reporting structure
