Job description

We are currently seeking a practice-focused 0.5 Lecturer (Education) in Media Production to join the team delivering our BA Broadcast Production and MA Media and Broadcast Production programmes. The BA in Broadcast Production and MA in Media and Broadcast Production are intensely practical degree programmes, which also incorporate theoretical engagement with the history, theories and analysis of the media.

The successful candidate will teach core practical modules at both BA and MA level related to photography, video recording, multimedia editing and project management. They will also have expertise in the planning and production of factual content such as television documentary or reporting.  They will be able to supervise students in the use of both high-end professional equipment and 'back-pack' journalism setups. They will demonstrate the use of AVID Media Composer. The successful candidate will additionally be able to facilitate students in the production of 'as-live' video programming utilising our new flexible studio facilities, e.g. magazine-style programming for television/online platforms.

The appointee will supervise students to develop and plan independent and group projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, steering students towards reflective learning techniques.
