The Research Training Group "Conducive Design of Cyber Physical Production Systems (CD-CPPS)" (GRK 2323) at TU Dresden, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), welcomes applications for a
Research Associate / PhD student
(subject to personal qualifications employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
for a three-year structured program max. until 28.02.2023. The program has already started in September 2018. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualifications (e.g. PhD).
Position and requirements
The scientific goal of the GRK is to contribute knowledge on how the beneficial design of CPPS - Cyber Physical Production Systems influences competencies, health and trust of human users. For this purpose, the interdisciplinary research team combines and adapts theoretical concepts that have so far only been considered within the framework of relatively independent research traditions. It will develop new methods and evaluate them in prototype systems in order to create an empirical basis for deriving suitable interventions in two application areas for CPPS: modular chemical plants in the process industry and mobile e-agricultural systems.

We strive to attract the best talent in each field of research and expect the following: an above-average university degree (Master's or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering with competencies in ergonomics and biomechanical sciences. Knowledge in digital ergonomic systems is necessary, also advanced English and German language skills (spoken and written). In addition to passion and experience in research, we expect active participation in the graduate college and the willingness to take the additional step of an interdisciplinary doctoral approach. Participation in the teaching program is compulsory.
What we offer
A teaching program accompanies the interdisciplinary research strategy. It covers the various disciplines, both through lectures and practical exercises. In addition, workshops enable participants to interact and network. Each project has two supervisors from different disciplines.
