Role & Responsibilities

As the Associate Professor / Professor, you will lead and foster excellence in the teaching and research efforts of the School, in the discipline of Nursing. You will work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team to build capability of staff, promote strong academic performance and provide high-level research leadership to foster a vibrant research culture.

You will also make a significant contribution to teaching and learning in the School with the aim of improving learning outcomes for students with specialist expertise in one of Acute Care, Maternal and Child Health or Indigenous Health. Furthermore, you will make a significant contribution to the planning and strategic direction of the School, taking on a major academic leadership role.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrate an ability to manage award program/s and lead program reviews, and coordinate, prepare and deliver coursework at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Expertise in utilising flexible learning options, innovation in learning and teaching, and demonstrated ways to engage diverse student populations
  • Undertake teaching activities using a range of delivery modes including face-to-face, blended, simulated or online learning
  • Demonstrate distinction at the national level and or internationally with a recognised research track record
  • Experience leading teams and supervising research students
  • PhD in relevant field and relevant clinical experience
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check
