Applications are invited for appointment as Principal Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the School of Public Health (several posts) (Ref.: 497223), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in public health, global health and development, health and sustainable development, international relations, or a related field; with at least 15 years’ full-time teaching experience in higher education. Relevant work experience in health/development agencies, ministries or consultancy firms is highly desirable. Applicants should be highly conversant in contemporary issues in global health/development, and skillful in using case-based and problem-based teaching pedagogy in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
The appointees will lead curriculum and syllabus design and develop instructional materials and case studies in courses for the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Global Health and Development programme. Examples of such courses might include globalization; role and impact of private sector in health and development; role of innovation and technology in health and development; global governance and policy; health systems and financing; leadership and advocacy; etc. The appointees may also be engaged in other undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching programmes in the School. Those with less experience may be appointed as Senior Lecturer or Lecturer.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. For Principal Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
