Three Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Biological Sciences (with responsibilities to include research, teaching and administration)

We are seeking to appoint three new academics at a level of either lecturer / senior lecturer or associate professor. The successful applicants will compliment our long-standing research strengths of the School: behavioural ecology and sensory biology, ecology and environmental change, evolutionary biology and plant and agricultural science. We are particularly interested in applicants who have developed research programmes in areas that include, though not limited to: molecular plant sciences; animal physiology and environmental change; managing environments to improve health and well-being; parasitology.

The successful applicants will have a proven international track records commensurate with experience. They will have interdisciplinary research portfolios, evidence of academic leadership and a strong commitment and aptitude for teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The newly appointed academics will be joining a growing and successful department; currently one of the leading School’s of Biological Sciences in the UK. The appointments will further compliment, as appropriate to the candidate’s field, University Research Institutes for Data science (Jean Golding Institute), Global change (Cabot Institute), and the Bristol Vision Institute, Bristol BioDesign Institute, Bristol Centre for Agricultural Innovation, the Wolfson Bioimaging Facility and the Advanced Computing Research Centre.

All of the posts will be also considered in light of how they help create new research opportunities within the Faculty of Life Sciences, established in 2018 and more widely across the University.
