The Dickson Poon School of Law is seeking an outstanding candidate for the role of Assistant Director of Clinical Legal Education & Supervising Lawyer to help manage the expansion of King’s Legal Clinic (‘the clinic’).

This role will suit an experienced legal practitioner who is committed to increasing access to justice and serving their local community.  The successful candidate’s legal experience may be in any area of law, preference will be given to someone with experience in one or more of the following areas of law; commercial, employment, family, housing, intellectual property, or property. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to work at the clinic, where we are committed to providing a supportive working environment and encourage and support individuals to achieve a balance between personal and professional life.

Candidates will ideally have experience of teaching in higher education or delivering training in a professional environment. The postholder will be committed to developing innovative teaching and learning practices which will enable students to have an excellent educational experience whilst also developing their civic duty. Candidates will ideally have experience of working in a pro bono environment, either in a law firm, higher education or voluntary advice sector.   

The postholder will be expected to train, supervise,  and assess  students in the King’s Legal Clinic who are working on both Law Clinic modules and extracurricular clinical projects.   Excellent project management skills and the ability to make and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is essential. 

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.

This is a full-time post. Part time working and job sharing will be considered. 

The selection process will include a panel interview and a presentation. Interviews are expected to be held on 19 September 2019.
