This is a pivotal role within QMUL and is responsible for ensuring that the security profile of the University is improved through training, policy, culture, process and technology.  The ISM will work with partners and third parties to ultimately protect data on all QMUL systems, comply fully with all relevant legislation and protect IT service provision from internal and external security and cyber threats.

The ISM will lead the development and implementation of a security program that leverages collaborations and campus-wide resources, facilitates information security governance, advises senior leadership on security direction and resource investments and designs appropriate policies to manage information security risk. The complexity of this position requires a leadership approach that is engaging, imaginative, and collaborative, with the ability to work with other leaders to set the best balance between security strategies, risk and other University priorities.

The post is full time. Starting salary will be in the range £54,853 - £61,311 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
