This is an exciting opportunity to work with large complex data from the ALSPAC birth cohort study. A donation to the Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology Research Group (PPE) of the Centre for Academic Child Health within Bristol Medical School has enabled the creation of this post. Primarily this project is concerned with Locus of Control (LOC) as studied longitudinally in the ALSPAC parents and offspring. Locus of control measures individuals’ expectancies regarding their ability to affect what happens to them based on how they behave.
You will need to have an aptitude for data management, programming and enthusiasm in working with data. You will work within a small research active team and be expected to take the lead in data management and advise on good practice.
