Administrative Services Administrator 1
The Sustainable Finance Initiative and the Stanford Precourt Institute for Energy seek a strategic, creative, results-oriented program management professional to design, oversee and implement cross-campus programs related to energy research and education at Stanford.
Reporting to the Managing Director for the Sustainable Finance Initiative (SFI) and also to the Associate Director for Communications, Community Building and Outreach Programs for the Precourt Institute (PIE), the Program Manager will help develop, implement and administer the vision, strategy and goals for SFI and PIE. The Program Manager will participate in partnership development to support community engagement and liaise with colleagues across campus on activities related to energy, climate and sustainable finance. The Program Manager will manage and implement the Stanford Energy Internships in California and the West program. In addition to these responsibilities, the Outreach Program Manager will help in a supporting role on other activities, such as the Energy@Stanford&SLAC, Stanford Energy Innovation Summit and the Global Energy Forum activities. Responsibilities include delivering the programs within scope, on time and within budget.
Key Components of the Program Manager role:
- Develop, implement, administer, and evaluate programs by analyzing data, creating reports, reviewing trends, and making program improvement recommendations
- Contribute to strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships, and fundraising/funding
- Execute program plans and detailed rollout, including on-going collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Write and/or edit content, develop and execute marketing plans for program activities
- Effectively work as a team member with institute staff and Stanford groups on various efforts
- Book venues and hire caterers, Stanford Event Services and other vendors for events
- Manage financial transactions, reporting and process expenses
- Collaborate with institute’s communications and web colleagues to maintain web and newsletter content related to energy programs at Stanford
- Deliver experiences that lead to high customer satisfaction and advocacy for energy at Stanford

- Administer, support, and manage programs or functions under general supervision.
- Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the program.
- Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
- Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or function.
- Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
- Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.
- May participate in development of budgets, monitor, and approve expenditures. May perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget.
- May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments. May also supervise staff.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
