Deputy Dean
£71,406 - £82,752 per annum

UWS is a university that dares to be different. We are proud that we are delivering on our purpose to change lives, transform communities, and encourage enterprise through outstanding, distinctive and progressive higher education.

The School of Education & Social Sciences at UWS is a newly-created School which is comprised of three divisions: Education; Social Sciences; and Psychology & Social Work. More than 3000 students study on programmes in the School, across our various campuses, supported by over 100 academic staff and professional service colleagues. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our BA Education degree, currently ranked at number 1 in the UK in The Guardian University Guide 2020.

In this crucial senior management role, you will deputise for the Dean in all aspects of the School’s strategy and operational matters, while leading on your own key areas as determined by the Dean.

You will provide leadership to both academic and administrative functions in the School, manage resources, and build successful teams.

You should have an outstanding track record of achievement at university level, including experience of success in management and leadership roles at a level commensurate with the demands of this post.

The post is based at our Paisley campus but travel to other campuses will be required on a regular basis.
