DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT, Resource Development-Office of Leadership Giving, to assist two or more leadership giving officers in the Office of Leadership Giving (OLG).  Will perform a wide range of administrative activities for OLG, including producing and editing correspondence to alumni, donors, faculty, and colleagues throughout Resource Development and MIT from rough draft; making travel arrangements that include complex itineraries and multiple appointments per trip; scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars; and distributing materials and reviewing follow-up actions. Will also manage all logistics for Leadership Giving events and support fund-raising activities and other events coordinated through the office. The work will involve contact with senior officers, volunteers, major and prospective donors, and people at all levels of the Institute. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least two years’ secretarial, office, or related experience; wide-ranging knowledge of office procedures; experience maintaining websites; ability to independently organize, prioritize, and carry out detailed procedures in a busy office setting with minimal supervision; initiative; ability to manage a high volume of work; tact and good judgment with confidential information; excellent interpersonal skills; proficient writing, editing, and proofreading skills; attention to detail; a flexible approach to the working environment; and experience with Apple computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and FileMaker Pro software.  Familiarity with e-mail and electronic calendars is highly preferred. The ability to mentor and train others would be useful.  An associate’s degree is also preferred.  Job #17634-4
